Tis the season to be reading … HOLIDAY BOOKS! 🎄🎅🤶❄
I love reading seasonal books to get me in the mood (snow in winter, beach in summer)! In the dead of winter, it's nice to have so many to choose from with holiday themes to keep your spirits bright. Many of the holiday themed books are light - filled with humor, stories of families and friendships, and often romance.
Here are a few of the Holiday themed books that I've read so far and have enjoyed 🎄
Holiday Books
One Day in December by Josie Silver - This is a great story about love and friendship spanning several years. Laurie sees a man while she's riding on a bus on December day and has this feeling that he's the one when they link eyes. But it's too late, she can't get off the bus. So she spends the next year watching for him everywhere she goes with no luck. Until the night that her best friend, Sarah introduces Laurie to her new boyfriend, Jack. And guess what? Jack is that man!!!
In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren - Maelyn is not having the best life right now and is in a rut. For the holidays, she's heading to the family cabin with two other families as they've always done for decades. There is a crazy time loop thing that keeps occurring (it reminds me a bit of the movie "50 First Dates" where the day keeps happening over with slight changes). These authors (it's a duo) turn the event into a hilarious holiday adventure with love and holiday wishes.
Mrs. Miracle by Debbie Macomber - How I loved this story! We meet Seth - an exhausted widow raising twin boys on his own. Enter into his life Mrs. Merkle, known by the boys as "Mrs. Miracle". She adds so much to the family as the new nanny including the push and encouragement Seth needs to reach out and connect with a broken woman named Reba.
The Immortal Nicholas by Glenn Beck - This is a great read for anyone who wants to dive deeper into the meaning of Christmas beyond the shopping malls. The story brings back the religion of the season, but done in a way that even a non-believer (or someone of another religion) would be captivated. I've passed this book on to several people as it has everything in it as it covers an old tale that spans decades and has adventure, drama, history, and the meaning of Christmas in it.
Spirit of the Season by Fern Michaels - This holiday themed book starts off a bit sad as there is a death. But the death of Anna (owner of Heart and Soul - a B&B) brings the family together. Anna made a stipulation in her will that her grown granddaughter, Joy, must take on the running of the B&B for at least 6 months. Reluctantly, Joy agrees even though her heart would rather be in Colorado versus North Carolina. She works the extremely busy holiday season with her mother and Anna's best friend, Izzie and discovers that the holiday cheer makes her feel right at home.
I hope that you've found a few great, new Holiday Season / Christmas themed books for your reading list this year through this list!
